Stack Builder
Let your customers build a complete regimen — one product at a time, guided step by step — and subscribe to the whole stack at once. It’s the Subscription Box Builder, tuned for supplement and food routines. What it is
Where the Subscription Box Builder lets a shopper fill a box from one big pool of products, the Stack Builder walks them through a regimen you’ve designed. You set the shape of the stack — “your routine is three products” — and group your catalog into pools for each step. The shopper picks one from the first pool, moves to the next, picks one from that, and so on, until they’ve built a complete, structured stack. Then they subscribe to the whole thing. It’s built for the way supplement and food customers actually shop: not “pick anything,” but “build my routine.” Stack Builder is a Boost add-on that runs on top of the Subscription Box Builder. See Boost Plans for pricing. The problem it solves
Your customers don’t want one product — they want a routine. But selling them a routine is hard:- An open box builder is too much choice for a regimen. When the goal is a structured stack — a base, a protein, an evening formula — showing every product in one pool creates decision fatigue and people build the wrong thing, or nothing.
- So most brands sell the routine one product at a time — and the customer subscribes to one item instead of the whole regimen, leaving the rest of the lifetime value on the table.
- No builder is made for stacks. Every build-a-box tool models a generic box. None walk a customer through a guided, slot-by-slot regimen — the exact thing supplement and food brands need.
How it works
1. Design the stack. In a dedicated Stack Builder settings screen, you define how many steps the regimen has and group products into a pool for each step — for example, Step 1: pick your base formula, Step 2: pick your protein, Step 3: pick your evening blend. 2. Your customer builds it, one step at a time. They land on your Stack Builder’s own link, choose one product from the first pool, move to the next screen, choose from that pool, and continue — a clean, guided flow with one decision per screen, easy on mobile. 3. They subscribe to the whole stack. At the end they set their delivery frequency and subscribe to the complete regimen in one recurring order — billed through the subscription provider you already run. What you get
- Bigger orders from day one. A stack is three, four, five products subscribed together — not a single bottle. Average order value climbs because the regimen is the unit of purchase.
- More of the routine, subscribed. Guiding customers to build the whole regimen captures lifetime value that single-product subscriptions leave behind.
- Lower decision fatigue, higher completion. One choice per screen turns an overwhelming catalog into a routine a customer can actually finish — especially on mobile.
- Built for your vertical. This is the supplement-and-food regimen builder no other tool offers — the reason a routine-based brand picks Boost.
Works with your stack
- What do I need to run it? The Subscription Box Builder add-on. A stack is a subscription — a regimen your customer is on and restocks on a schedule — so it runs on the same recurring engine the Subscription Box Builder provides. Stack Builder adds the guided, slot-by-slot mode on top of it.
- Does it have its own page for customers? Yes. The Stack Builder gets its own link you can send in email, SMS, ads, or put in your nav — a dedicated regimen-building experience.
- Do I have to switch subscription apps? No. It’s provider-neutral — the finished stack subscribes through Recharge, Skio, or the leading subscription app you already use. You keep your provider, subscribers, and billing.
- Will it mess up fulfillment? No. Every product in the stack ships as a real line item, so your 3PL and reporting see exactly what’s in each order.
- How do customers manage it? The stack subscription is managed like any other subscription in your provider’s portal — skip, pause, reschedule, all the usual controls. To change what’s in the stack, the customer rebuilds it in the Stack Builder.
